About

Christopher BrownChristopher Brown is truly an artistic visionary at heart and at around the young age of 10 he needed to create and that his purpose was to build things. In his quest, to explore the beauty of the creative human spirit Christopher pursued his calling to be an architect and in 1987 received his Bachelors of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.

After graduating from one of the premiere Architecture schools in the country, Christopher returned to home to the Los Angeles Area where he continued his professional development as an apprentice until he received his professional license in 1991.  Christopher has been practicing as a licensed architect now for over 22 years with a wide range experience starting with simple residential interiors to complex medical projects. From 1991 to 2001, Christopher spent a decade working for a couple of local firms improving his design skills as an architect and learning how to manage the construction process. In 2000, Christopher became the Director of Architecture for Steven Langford Architects, a nationally recognized restaurant design firm in the hospitality industry.  After about a year as Director, Christopher felt it was time for him to start his own company and launched ARCHITECTUS in 2001.  As the principal of his own architectural and interior design firm, Christopher is developing a progressive firm whose purpose is to have an innovative approach to design, problem-solving, and professional service.  This approach has blessed him with the opportunity to have designed projects both domestically and internationally.  Over the years Christopher has won local and state design awards and his work has been published in Art Business News and California Homes.

Professionally Christopher also stays active with both civic and educational organizations’.  In the past, he has served as the architectural advisor for the City of Lakewood’s Design Review Board and was the Chairperson for the Board of Examiners, Appeals and Condemnation for the City of Long Beach code enforcement division. Christopher loves to learn and really enjoys the academic setting.  Since the mid 1990’s, Christopher has been a part-time lecturer and guest critic at California State University Long Beach in their Interior Architecture Department. He enjoys mentoring the next generation of designers and has taught freshman, junior and senior design courses.

Christopher’s interest in the arts expands into the entertainment industry.  Having danced the tango in a reality series he now takes lessons periodically and hopes to be in the next LA Tango production. You also might find him modeling or doing commercial work for some local corporations. Since 2009, Christopher was a staff writer for the online publication called The Power Player Magazine where he created monthly articles reviewing and promoting artists from all over the world.  In the past, he has also written and contributed to articles in the Long Beach Business Journal, L.A. Times and Variety.  His writing skills continued to develop resulting in him authoring the book entitled, “Financial Crisis or Faith”, which was released in April 2012.

In his personal life Christopher is the father of four and professes this is his greatest accomplishment yet. As a native Southern Californian, Christopher loves the warm sun and the beautiful Californian coastline. During his private time, you can find Chris jogging or hiking along the coast. Christopher enjoys traveling and has had the blessed opportunity to visit over 20 other countries. These experiences have helped him broaden his awareness of other environments, cultures and people.
